Mid Century Modern Home in Joshua Tree

Mid-century modern homes are becoming increasingly popular in the valley. Mid-century modern architecture refers to the style of homes built between the mid-1940s to the mid-1960s. One of the common themes is that the homes focus equally on function and design, with simplified construction keeping the costs low. What makes this style stand out is that many different design options can make the homeowners feel like they’re living in a work of art. Typically, a mid-century modern home will be a one-story home with an open-concept layout with lots of windows, mainly on the house’s sides and back. The architect may incorporate natural materials like wood-paneled walls, exposed beams, stone, or concrete. The homes will promote integration with nature by having many windows, indoor-outdoor access points, and sometimes courtyards surrounded by glass.
